BARNEY'S DEN

Last Updated - 6th February 2023

My name is Paul. To my friends I am known as "Barney", or, "The Borstal", nicknames given to me many years ago by some of  my hiking friends. I was born in 1958 in England and moved out to Australia in 1969 with my parents. In early 2009 I moved away from the South Coast of New South Wales after living there for 20 years and presently live in suburban Canberra. This website encompasses my interest in Hiking, also called Bushwalking, Tramping, Backpacking and Rambling and you will find write-ups and photographs with which to view. There is also an Email link at the bottom of this page if you wish to write.

 Enjoy

A great turn-out for the 63rd Anniversary Walk to Corang Lagoon utilising a new track after land-owners prohibited walkers from accessing a trail that has been in use for 63 years. The walk was a kind of Bushwalker protest, but also a chance for walkers to discover a new route to "Keep Corang Open". As the sign states, the gathering went under the banner of "Just Passing Through" - Photo courtesy of David Poland

Man On A Horse Rock, as located near the new trail to Nil Desperandum in Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve near Canberra. Blink as you walk past this outcrop and you could easily miss it.

Sean and Craig following the trail back to Tidbinbilla after visiting Nil Desperandum. This trail is popular with hikers for their many granite rock boulders and tors that can be found beside this road.

Craig negotiates a very overgrown link trail between the Rendezvous Creek Loop Track and Rendezvous Valley Trail during a walk to locate Rowleys Hut ruins
