Thunderbird Email Setup

  1. Open Thunderbird.
  2. Choose Add Account, then Email.
  3. Enter your name, full email address and password.
  4. Choose Manual Configuration if the settings are not found automatically.
  5. For incoming mail choose POP3.
  6. Enter the incoming and outgoing server settings below.
  7. Choose Normal password for authentication.
  8. Save the account and send yourself a test message.

Example: for jsmith@shoalhaven.net.au, the username is jsmith.

If You Cannot Send Mail

Open Account Settings, then Outgoing Server (SMTP). Check that the server is smtp.shoalhaven.net.au, the port is 587, and authentication is enabled.
