OUTLOOK 2016 Setup
  1. Open Control Panel (Click on the Start icon and then type control panel - The icon will appear.)

  2. Change to View by small icons (Top right)

  3. Left click on the Mail icon - The Outlook settings will open.
  4. Click the Email Accounts button.
  5. Select New... if a new account, or change... if modifying an existing account
    Note: If you're making changes to an existing account, under the Email tab you will see a list of email accounts that exist within Outlook 2016, double click on the email account you wish to make changes to, then skip to step 9
  6. Select the POP option and click [Next]

  7. Complete the empty fields:
    Your Name: The name you wish displayed when people receive your emails
    Email Address: The email address you are sending email from
    Account Type: Select POP3 from the drop down

  8. Use these settings for your incoming server:
  9. Mail / POP / IN server
    Server type POP or POP3
    Username Enter the first part of your email address. eg jsmith
    Password Enter your email account password.
    Incoming Server Name mail.shoalhaven.net.au
    Port 110 with no security selected
    or
    995 with SSL security selected (Better)



  10. Use these settings for the Outgoing Mail server

    SMTP (OUT) Server
    Username Enter the first part of your email address. eg jsmith
    Password Enter your email account password.
    SMTP (Out) server smtp.shoalhaven.net.au
    Port 587
    Security Type TLS or STARTTLS or NONE
    Require Authentication to send emails ON
  11. Set outgoing server to smtp.shoalhaven.net.au

  12. Click remember password

  13. Leave SPA blank

  14. Click [more settings...]
  15. Select the Outgoing Server tab

    1. Tick My outgoing server requires authentication

    2. Select Log On using ..... and enter username/password

  16. Select the Advanced tab

    1. Set the Outgoing server port to 587

    2. Set the type of encrypted connection to TLS or STARTTLS or NONE

  17. Click [OK]   then [Test Account Settings...]

  18. Click [NEXT>] then [CLOSE]


This completes the setup of your email account in Outlook 2016.
